Groίglockner - A wonder of nature
Groίglockner is Austria's highest mountain at 3,798 metres and at the same time forms the state border between Salzburg, East Tirol and Kδrnten.
The mighty peak is a popular visitor destination and forms a great part of the Hohe Tauern National Park. Since 1935 around 50 million people have travelled along the Groίglockner high alpine road, the most famous alpine road in Austria.
Sights include the Pasterze, a 7 kilometre long glacier, one of the biggest glaciers in the eastern Alps.
