See the world's largest glacial cave

The giant world of ice at Werfen, a gigantic system of caves in the Salzburg Tennengebirge, was first discovered at the beginning of the last century.

Since then, more and more people have visited these fascinating caves to see the impressive ice sculptures. The cableway, the steepest in Austria, is worth a trip on its own. On top of that there is a free view of a breathtaking panorama of the Salzachtal.

You can combine this trip with a visit to the Burg Hohenwerfen castle.

opening time Cave- and telefericbusiness: 1. May bis 26. October. Öopening time: 9.00 till 15.30 Uhr (last guided tour) or 16.30 Uhr (last guided tour in July and August). Tour-duration: aprox. 1 hour, 15 min. For the visit you should allow for 3-4 hours.
